CLEVELAND (AP) β Andrew Harrison hit two free throws with six seconds left as the top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats survived a 68-66 win over fifth seed Notre Dame to advance to the NCAA men’s Final Four. The Irish had one last chance to tie or win it, but Jerian Grant missed a jumper from the corner as time expired. Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and five rebounds to lead the unbeaten Wildcats to their 38th win and a berth in the national semifinals for the fourth time in five years.
LOS ANGELES (AP) β No. 1 seed Wisconsin is in the national semifinals for the second straight year following an 85-78 triumph over No. 2 Arizona in Los Angeles. Frank Kaminsky poured in 29 points and Sam Dekker added 27 to set a career high for the second straight game. The Badgers denied the Wildcats a Final Four berth for the second straight year
MILWAUKEE (AP) β The Golden State Warriors have set a franchise record for victories in a season and clinched homecourt advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. Stephen Curry scored 25 points and the Warriors improved to 60-13 with their ninth straight win, 108-95 at Milwaukee. Klay Thompson scored 17 of his 21 points in the third quarter to help the Warriors pull away after the Bucks got within 57-50.
UNDATED (AP) β The Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators were able to clinch Stanley Cup playoff berths on Saturday. Andrew Cogliano scored the game-winner and Frederik Andersen stopped 29 shots as the Ducks beat the New York Islanders 3-2 to stay atop the Western Conference, one point ahead of Nashville. Filip Forsberg had a goal and two assists as Nashville dumped Washington 4-3 to reach the postseason for the first time in three years.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) β Jimmy Walker has a four-stroke lead over Jordan Spieth (speeth) through three rounds of the Texas Open. Walker fired a 3-under 69 for a 9-under total as he seeks his fifth title in two PGA seasons. FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel birdied the final three holes for a 69 to move up to third place at minus-3.
