Community Honors Retired Rock Hill Police Lieutenant Killed Inside His Home
CHARLOTTE — Hundreds gathered to remember a retired Rock Hill Police Lieutenant killed in his own home.
Lt. Larry Vaughan was found dead inside his apartment last Friday. A former Chester County Deputy has been charged in his murder.
Thursday, family, friends and colleagues gathered at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill to pay their final respects. They reflected on Vaughan’s life and his legacy.
“He was my hero. He was my best friend,” says Lori Williams, the officer’s sister.
Vaughan was a Swat Sniper Team Commander, K-9 officer, and firearms instructor during his 3 decades serving at the Rock Hill Police Department. In 2019, he was awarded the Medal of Valor.
