Finally Feeling Like August
There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and summertime humidity in the Carolinas.
Well, it was nice while it lasted. After a welcome cooldown to kick off the month, it’ll only get hotter from here. Expect temperatures to soar back into the 80s and 90s across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area as a stagnant pattern takes hold of the Carolinas. The winds out of the north and east were a godsend, but don’t expect a saving grace to arrive anytime soon. Of course, no summer day would be complete without isolated-to-scattered pop-up storms during the afternoons and evenings. The copy-and-paste forecast should continue into next weekend.
The Carolinas aren’t the only area heating up. A trifecta of storm systems is training across the western Atlantic, each of which is being monitored by the NHC for development. While it’s way too early to say if any of these storms will threaten the US, much less the Carolinas, we’ll have to watch them closely as we head closer towards the peak of hurricane season.
