Denver Man Facing Drug Charges In Lincoln And Mecklenburg Counties

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A 25-year-old Denver man is facing drug charges in Lincoln and Mecklenburg counties after over 20 ounces of cocaine was seized on Friday, according to deputies.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department seized 18 ounces of cocaine Friday from Joxvany Pineda Duarte, sparking an investigation, officials say. As a result, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office narcotics officers executed a search warrant at Duarte’s Riverwalk Loop residence on the same day. Investigators were able to seize four ounces of cocaine and money from the residence as a result of the search.

Duarte is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance in Lincoln County, according to deputies. He faces nine counts of trafficking in cocaine by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.

He was placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $675,000 secured bond.
