North Carolina Ranks 2nd Among States Interested In Buying Fake COVID-19 Vaccination Cards | MAP
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — We’ve all heard of students buying fake ID’s to get into bars underage, but now students are searching out fake COVID-19 vaccination cards to get into class.
As more colleges and universities require students to get vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to attend classes on campus, officials say a niche market has opened up where people are selling fake vaccination cards anywhere from $100 to $500 per card.
A map of states interested in fake COVID-19 cards was created based on geotagged Twitter data in the last month, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about fake vaccination cards including #fakevaccinecard, #fakecovidcard, “buy vaccine card,” etc.
North Carolina ranks 2nd in the country for showing interest in these fake vaccination cards.
The map was put together thanks to college resource site schoolauthority.org.
