We could see Tropical Storm Grace form as soon as Saturday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The tropics are starting to get busy. Not even a week after the formation of Tropical Storm Fred, it looks like the Atlantic is ready to berth yet another tropical system. Currently designated as Tropical Cyclone Seven, the fledgling system may become Tropical Storm Grace as soon as the first half of the weekend.

We’ll have to watch carefully as future Grace progresses. Right now, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is forecasting a track similar to what Fred went through; a path through the rugged, mountainous terrain of the Greater Antilles. That said, a few models put soon-to-be Grace farther north, which leaves it over open water and could lead to rapid development. Regardless, this will be a system to watch for much of next week.
