The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a man with murder for the fatal north Charlotte shooting of an 18-year-old that happened in August.
Through an investigation, 18-year-old Delvario Boyce Jr. was identified as a suspect in the homicide case of Jaterrious Moore, according to police. A warrant was issued for his arrest and Friday morning he was arrested by detectives without incident.
According to police, Boyce was interviewed by detectives and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he has been charged with murder.
Original Story (8/14/21):
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was fatally shot in north Charlotte early Saturday morning.
Officers say around 3 a.m. on August 14th they heard several gunshots near the area of W. Sugar Creek Road and Reagan Drive in Charlotte and went to investigate.
Officers then located a victim with a gunshot wound lying in the parking lot on W. Sugar Creek Road and attempted to give aid.
The victim, later identified as 18-year-old Jaterrious Moore, died at the scene shortly after, and a second victim was found and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
