YORK CO., S.C. — Troopers are investigating a fatal collision in York County after a woman lost control of her car and struck a tree on Friday.
Troopers say the driver, Julie Jacobs, was traveling west on Cameron Road when she lost control of her car and swerved right, left, and right again off the side of the road before striking a tree.
The front seat passenger died on impact and Jacobs was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
Troopers say the name of the victim has not yet been released.
