CHARLOTTE, NC — Futbol fever was all the rage in Charlotte Tuesday evening, as the USA tried to beat Belgium to advance in the World Cup.
Hooligans Pub in uptown is hosting watch parties throughout the tournament, but the biggest crowds come out to watch the Americans play. Hundreds were on hand Tuesday rooting on the red, white and blue.
“It was exciting. And to have the country like this behind you, it’s just amazing,” said Plaza Midwood resident Zach Branner.
Belgium knocked out the US in extra time, 2-1. Kelli, Brandon and Sean have more on the World Cup on our sports page.
