Concerns About Flooding in High Country Overnight

BOONE, N.C. – We’re keeping a close eye on heavy rain in the High Country overnight.

Watauga County is under a flash flood warning until Midnight on Wednesday.

The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Watauga County until midnight.

Rainfall rates have been reported up to 3" per hour in some parts of the county and multiple roadways are now becoming blocked by fallen trees and rising water.
