FORT MILL, S.C. — Anne Springs Close, the namesake and founder of the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill has died. She was 95.
Close died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family according to a statement released by her organization on Friday.
On Monday, Anne Close and her daughter Gracie Close suffered serious injuries after being struck by a falling limb from a pecan tree near Close’s home in Fort Mill. Close died from her injuries on Friday.
A memorial service will be held at the Comporium Amphitheater on the Anne Springs Close Greenway Sunday, August 22nd at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Anne Springs Close Greenway.
