Summery, Sunny Days Ahead

Highs in the mid-90s and sweltering humidity could make it feel like the triple digits at times in the Piedmont.

With the arrival of August 22, we’re now one month away from the official start of fall. That said, fall is nowhere to be found in this week’s forecast. In fact, some of the warmest air we’ve seen all year arrives to kick off the workweek. Expect highs in the mid-90s in the Piedmont both Monday and Tuesday, while temperatures settle near 80º in the Foothills. While stray-to-isolated pop-up storms are possible through midweek, high pressure just to our north will keep widespread rain chances at bay. A weak disturbance may build in from the coast on Wednesday and bump up rain chances for the back half of the week, but the heat will remain as we close out August.

Tonight: A stray storm early, then partly cloudy. Low: 71°. Wind: Light.

Monday: Sunny and hot. High: 93°. Wind: N 5-10.

Monday Night: Mostly clear. Low: 73°. Wind: Light.

Tuesday: Even hotter. A stray storm is possible late. High: 95°. Wind: NE 5-10.
