CMPD: 25-Year-Old Charged For Fatal Southeast Charlotte Shooting

A 25-year-old has been charged with murder after a man was shot multiple times and killed in southeast Charlotte Monday morning, according to police.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified Christian Holt as a suspect for the murder of D’Andre McLean after an investigation. Warrants for murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon were then issued for his arrest, police said.

After a collaborative effort between CMPD, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service the suspect was located Thursday and arrested without incident. Following an interview with detectives, Holt was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he was served outstanding warrants for his arrest.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after a victim was shot multiple times in southeast Charlotte Monday morning.

Officers responded to Tartan Court, off of Rama Road, around 6:50 a.m. after a request to assist Medic at that location. Upon arrival, the victim was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 21-year-old D’Andre Damian McLean, was pronounced dead on scene by medic.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
