CMPD Animal Care & Control Are Bringing Adoptable Pets Back To SouthPark Mall

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care & Control (AC&C) is bringing back the adoptable pets to SouthPark Mall!

“It’s been a year and a half since we’ve been able to host an in-person adoption event with our partner SouthPark Mall. This is our first off-site adoption event this year and we are all super excited to continue the 15 year + tradition of bringing adoptable animals to the mall.” -Melissa Knicely, Communications Manager for AC&C

CMPD AC&C has been on hiatus from in-person events due to COVID-19 restrictions. During that time AC&C’s social media coordinator, Officer Julia Conner implemented a genius way to continue the adoption showcases virtually! The Virtual Mall Adoption Showcases started in January and occur twice a month, each feature about 15 adoptable animals with Officer Conner and Officer Shrewsbury and volunteers.

While these virtual events will continue, CMPD AC&C looks forward to getting back to SouthPark Mall 4 times a year for some amazing pet showcases and adoption opportunities:
