Discussion:

High pressure will keep temps hot and rain chances slim. Highs will soar into the 90s again today. Rain and storm chances will be limited with storms most likely for the higher elevations. Hot and steamy through the weekend with not much relief as temps climb into the mid-90s by Saturday. Heat indices will break into the triple digits for many by Sunday and Monday. We’ll likely have our next named storm – Ida – develop within the next 24 hours. It will be entering an environment with very warm water and low shear that would be conducive for rapid intensification. Even though this is a Gulf Coast storm, we will be watching very closely as there is high uncertainty on track and impacts as the low hasn’t even developed yet.
