Shooting Victim Dies, Suspect Charged With Murder

CHARLOTTE, NC — A man shot during an argument in northwest Charlotte has died.  Now, the suspected gunman’s charge has been changed to murder.

CMPD says David McCullough shot Brian Kappauf in the head on Tuesday.  The shooting happened on Ridgevalley Drive.  Police arrested McCullough at the scene and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon.

Kappauf died at Carolinas Medical Center Wednesday.
