ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) β Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig has been removed from a spring training game against the Angels after a violent collision with second baseman Howie Kendrick.
Puig and Kendrick were going after a fifth-inning blooper by Mike Trout, and Kendrick peeled off when he heard Puig call for it at the last instant β but could not avoid hitting him.
Puig was replaced in right field by Chris Heisey, and Trout scored moments later on Albert Pujols’ sacrifice fly.
