Students Rescued From Flooded Bus as Ida Moved Through Pennsylvania

SHALER TOWNSHIP, PA — Students on a Pennsylvania school bus had to be rescued Wednesday after their bus got stuck in floodwaters as the remnants of tropical storm Ida unleashed severe weather on the Northeast. Rescuers from a volunteer fire station in Allegheny County were able to get all 41 passengers safely off the bus, using a boat. No injuries were reported. Investigators say the driver didn’t try going through the floodwaters. The bus stalled out when water got into it’s air intake on one of the front bumpers.
