Detectives say missing 8-year-old Shakiah Bohanan has been found safe and has been reunited with her family.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding missing 8-year-old Shakiah Bohanan.

Police say Bohanan voluntarily left her home on Lakemist Drive at 10 a.m. on September 2nd.
She is described as 3 feet 2 inches tall, 50 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, navy blue pants, and blue shoes.
Authorities say she has blue beads in her hair and is in possession of a pink and purple book bag with a lunch box.
Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
