CONCORD, N.C. — Police have charged 26-year-old Alex Blount of Concord with murder after a 3-year-old child was found dead on Sunday.

On August 29th at 9:30 a.m., officers say they responded to a home on Central Drive NW to assist EMS.
The reporting person said that a 3-year-old child was found in bed unresponsive inside the home.
At 9:37 a.m., Cabarrus County EMS pronounced the child deceased.
Police say Blount was charged with one count of murder for his involvement and is being held in the Cabarrus County jail under a $1 million bond.
