NEWTON, N.C. — At a special called meeting on Friday, the Newton-Conover City Schools Board of Education voted to implement a mask mandate beginning Tuesday, September 7th.
The Board voted 6 to 0 to require staff, students, and visitors to wear face coverings while indoors on school campuses and on school transportation.
The Board of Education is required to reassess the mask mandate each month based on local and state health guidance.
