SBI Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Catawba Co.

CATAWBA CO., N.C. – The SBI is investigating after police shot a man who officers say attempted to run them over with his car.

Officers say they responded to a family matter just after 5:00 Sunday evening at a home on 4th Avenue NW in Catawba County.

We’re told the incident involved a father and son.

While investigating, police say the son rammed a patrol car, knocking it back 50 feet.

He then allegedly tried to run over the officers and his dad.

That’s when officers shot him.

There’s no word on his condition and which agencies were involved.
