ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A vintage rifle, made popular by 1920’s gangsters, may soon help a local sheriff department fight modern day crimes.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has owned a 1928 Tommy Tun for years. It’s the type of gun high-profiled criminals like Al Capone used. Now the sheriff wants to auction the weapon to buy riot gear for the SWAT team. It’s expected to sell for at least $30,000.
