Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly North Charlotte Stabbing

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has arrested a suspect in a deadly stabbing at a motel in north Charlotte.

Gregory Richardson is charged with the murder of Jovonte Martell-Moss Franks.  Richardson is the man seen in surveillance photos at a convenience store near the murder scene.

The stabbing happened just after midnight at the Brookwood Inn on West Sugar Creek Road.  Police say Richardson and Franks were arguing at the time, but have not said what it was about.
