Tonight, we’re watching for the potential for some very heavy downpours. With all the moisture in the atmosphere, it won’t take much for some spots to pick up a quick burst of heavy rain. That could lead to localized flash flooding. Some of the severe weather will have damaging wind gusts as a threat as well. Turn around, don’t drown.
Residents hit stores before preparing to stay indoors through weekend
Our first snowfall in Charlotte arrives this weekend, followed by frigid air.
Winter Storm warnings have been issued for early Saturday with freezing temperatures lasting through Monday.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation held a news conference Friday morning in reference to road preparations for the upcoming winter storm.
We are tracking a winter storm that will bring snow to the Charlotte area by the end of the week. That storm is out West right now and will make a nearly 2,600 mile journey across the country over the next 48 hours. Road crews will be out early Thursday treating local roads.
There is a possibility of winter weather this weekend in the Charlotte area.
It will be a cloudy and damp start to the week.
It ripped shingles off rooftops, siding off homes, and toppled massive trees. Clean-up continues as people assess how their homes, churches and businesses were damaged.
