The start of Friday will remain quiet with bright sunny skies and feels like temps near 102°. By Friday evening, though, the atmosphere starts to get a little more unsettled. Governor Roy Cooper issued a State of Emergency for North Carolina on Wednesday in response to Tropical Depression Fred. He says this will activate the state's emergency operations plan and waive transportation rules to help first responders and the agriculture industry.
