Drier conditions arrive this Friday afternoon after a wet & wintry start to the day.

The National Weather Service confirms an EF1 tornado with winds around 90 miles per hour touched down in Union County Wednesday morning.

The severe threat has ended for the region, but a wind advisory remains in effect as 30-40 mph gusts remain possible through the evening.

Thousands of customers are without power throughout the Carolinas due to Severe storms moving through the region.

The annual statewide tornado drill will now take place on Friday, March 7th. This is for both North and South Carolina.

Day 3 of Severe Weather Preparedness focuses on ways to receive severe weather alerts and where to go when severe weather strikes.

Due to high winds and the potential severe weather, several schools in our area are closed, delayed, or operating on a remote schedule.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible on Wednesday. This may result in a few power outages.

A large brush fire broke out Monday afternoon in Cramerton. According to the Town of Cramerton, "the fire has been contained."
