A disturbance off the South Carolina coast will likely lack tropical characteristics before moving inland. But, regardless of becoming a named storm it will bring heavy rain and gusty wind to the region beginning Monday afternoon.
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake has rattled the Los Angeles area. It unleashed boulders onto a Malibu road and shook Santa Monica’s pier on Thursday morning. No injuries or damages were immediately reported. The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake was centered north of Malibu.
Despite its name, blue-green algae isn’t actually algae. It’s a bacteria, known as Cyanobacteria, which can make wildlife, pets, and even people very sick if ingested.
Several people saw what is believed to be a meteor as it streaked above North Carolina in the early hours of Friday morning. Home security video captured the moment as the fiery ball illuminated the night sky.
