Tracking spotty storms through the day

By Wednesday morning, expect a soggy start to the day. Rain moves in early and sticks around through the late morning hours with periods of heavier downpours, gusty winds, and even a few rumbles of thunder possible. The second round comes in this afternoon with spotty widespread storms expected.Β  Temperatures will start mild in the mid to upper 60s and only climb into the upper 70s by the afternoon once the rain tapers off. As the system begins to shift out and before the cold front fully clears, there’s a small chance a few storms could briefly turn strong, mid afternoon into the evening.

Debby's Aftermath Leaves Thousands In The Dark; Threatens More Flooding In The Carolinas

The weather system dubbed Debby isn't quite done affecting parts of the U.S. While many rivers had receded by Sunday, flood warnings remained in effect in several areas across central and eastern North Carolina, where more thunderstorms were possible over the next few days. The National Weather Service says localized downpours could result in additional flash flooding throughout the coastal Carolinas.
