UPDATE: Police have identified the victim as 49-year-old Jeffrey Arthur Johnson. The investigation is ongoing.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in East Charlotte.
Police were called to the 4900 block of Central Avenue around 10:47 am Saturday and found a man with gunshot wounds when they arrived. The man was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.
Detectives are canvassing the area in search of any witnesses to the shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
