CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson dressed in his best green today getting ready for this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Going Green Festival. This is Wilson’s 18th year being part of the big event and he gets a little more greener every year.
It was cold outside today, but it didn’t stop the different groups who showed up to help Wilson preview the parade. Performers from Acrofitness and the Rince Na h’eireann School of Irish Dance as well as the Ghostbusters and members of the Tarheel Old English Sheepdog Rescue were with Wilson to get us in the Irish spirit.
This year’s event kicks off this Saturday, March 15th. The parade begins at 11:00am Uptown at Tryon and 9th Streets. The parade continues south to 3rd St. where it takes a left and marches down 3rd St. to Caldwell. The Festival which begins at 10:00am and runs until 6:00pm is located on S. Tryon Street between 3rd St. and Stonewall St. Wilson, our own over-sized leprechaun will be the entertainment stage emcee.
