AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Sunny skies and cool temperatures have greeted the golfers for the opening round of the Masters this morning. The Big Three of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player hit ceremonial tee shots to get the first major of the year underway.

DALLAS (AP) — The Mavericks can improve their playoff chances while San Antonio can take a step toward wrapping up the top seed in the NBA Western Conference when they meet tonight in Dallas. The Spurs go into tonight’s play three games up on Oklahoma City for the conference lead. Dallas has won four in a row and sits sixth in the conference.

OAKLAND, Calf. (AP) — Golden State can take another step toward a second consecutive NBA playoff spot when the Warriors host Denver tonight. Golden State is fifth in the Western Conference a game ahead of Dallas.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Phoenix looks to improve its chances to wrap up with final playoff spot in the NHL Western Conference when the Coyotes visit Nashville tonight. Phoenix trails Dallas by two points for that last post-season berth. The Coyotes and Stars play Sunday night to wrap up the regular season.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Milwaukee looks to make it three in a row over Philadelphia when it takes a five-game winning streak into tonight’s game with the Phillies. The 6-2 Brewers will be facing Cliff Lee who has two of the Phillies three wins this season.
