
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The FBI in Charlotte and Atlanta are offering a reward up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of two men wanted in connection with a kidnapping in Wake Forest.
Frank Janssen was taken from his home on April 5, 2014. The ongoing investigation into this elaborate kidnapping plot has identified two additional suspects, Jakym Tibbs and Quantavious Thompson. Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to public federal documentation, Janssen was targeted by a group operating for the benefit of Kelvin Melton, an inmate at the Polk Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina.
Melton was previously prosecuted by Frank Janssen’s daughter, who is an assistant district attorney in Wake County. Melton was convicted and is currently serving a state sentence of life without the chance of parole. Melton is now facing additional federal charges for his role in Janssen’s kidnapping.
