CHARLOTTE, N.C. – This is the 8th year that the Habitat Mud Volleyball Tournament brings together participants and spectators to enjoy food, drink, fun, volleyball…and plenty of mud. Starting off as a different way to enjoy a 30th birthday for Tim Murphy, everyone had so much fun while benefitting Habitat for Humanity, that the event has grown to become an annual event that everyone looks forward to.
Wilson was at the big volleyball mud hole where some of the participants were getting in a little pre-game day training and mud baths. The secret to good traction in the mud? Duct tape on the shoes.
The Habitat Mud Volleyball Tournament starts at 1pm, Sunday, June 8th behind Ayrsley Town Center on Ayrsley Town Blvd. Registration for teams are still open. For more information on how your team can register, location and additional information on the tournament, go to their website www.habitatmudvolleyball.org.
The Habitat Young Professionals of Charlotte which begin in late 2007 engages the 21-39 year professionals in Charlotte to join Habit helping build affordable house for low income families. The group also provides networking for future leaders of the Charlotte business community.
