It’s pretty easy to find examples of people over-sharing during a break-up… just look in the tabloids. Take J-Lo and Casper Smart: we know that he says she’s way too into workouts and healthy eating to hold an intelligent conversation. Β And he’s way too into transsexual strippers. Β Hey, everybody’s got their thing, but we wouldn’t know about it if somebody wasn’t talking.
More bad behavior could come from staying friends with an ex. Β Mostly because it’s almost never a real friendship, according to psychology today. Β Usually somebody is hurt, or wants something… like a booty call. Β Another something ex’s should never do.
And just this week, we saw how social media presence is becoming a big part of break-ups. Β The main point is not to post anything about your ex. Β In fact, some lawyers say that negative posts can cost clients tens of thousands of dollars, since it’s the same as smearing their reputation. Β “Ex-pectation”: don’t do it.
