FORT MILL, S.C. — A teenage Carowinds employee is facing charges after being accused of giving free giant sized stuffed animals away.
On Sunday, Carowinds security told deputies that they detained an employee, 16, because she was caught giving away large stuffed animals that are prizes to families who could not win the ring toss game.
The report states that she convinced them to try again and they put five dollars in a money bucket. The girl allegedly placed a ring on a bottle and alerted her supervisor that a player won the game. She gave away a large stuffed giraffe, which is worth $180.
The family gave the girl more money, but she placed it underneath the counter. The second family were just as unsuccessful in winning the game and the girl put the ring around the bottle to make it look like they won and gave them a stuffed cobra.
The park managed to reclaim one of the stuffed animals and had to give back one family’s money. The girl told the deputies that she gave the stuffed animals away because she felt sorry that they couldn’t win.
After the deputies issued a summons on the girl charging her with breach of trust, her mother arrived on scene.
