
WOODLEAF, N.C. – One man is dead after another man opens fire following an argument.
22-year-old Destin Sloan has been charged with murder after he shot and killed 39-year-old Kerry Gray in front of Sloan’s residence. The two men were in an argument prior to Sloan shooting Gray. Gray died from his gunshot wounds.
Sloan was also charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance; and Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance.
Police obtained a search warrant for Sloan’s residence and seized 16 grams of crack cocaine, approximately $1,000 and a rifle. Investigators also seized two handguns from Sloan’s car.
Sloan was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond.
