Local Pediatrician Charged with Indecent Exposure

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer arrested Concord pediatrician Dr. Allen Cherer on Sunday at 2PM.  Cherer has been charged with indecent exposure.  A police report indicates Cherer was at a rest stop off I-77N in southwest Charlotte when he exposed “the private parts of his body in a public place and in the presence of another person.”

The 63-year-old is currently out of jail.  Cherer works at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast  in Concord.  A CMC spokesman tells WCCB Cherer has been put on paid administrative leave.  They issued no other comment.
