ELIZABETH, C.O. — A Colorado woman nearly died when she crashed while texting and driving. She had just left her daughter’s school when she hit a guard rail, and a pole impaled her. The pole entered through the front light of her truck, piercing her in the rear end, and kept going. Firefighters managed to get her out of the truck and rushed her to the hospital for surgery. The woman needed 40 stitches and is at home recovering. She plans to use this accident to warn others about the dangers of texting and driving.
