UPDATE: Police say Taylor Blake contacted her family by phone early Wednesday morning. She is safe and will be reunited with her family.
LINCOLNTON, NC — The search for a missing 16-year-old girl from Lincolnton is nearly day five.
Taylor Blake’s father, David Blake, says he last saw his little girl Friday before school.
In disbelief, he sent her a message through WCCB News Thursday.
“I love you,” said Blake. “You know I love you.”
He thought his teenager was on the right path, but that path vanished Friday when she never came home from school.
“There’s no time for sleep,” said Blake. “I have dreams and delusions, but there’s no sleep. There’s no sleep at all.”
Taylor’s “missing” posters circulate the web, the same place family feels they lost her.
“Anyone can look at her Facebook page and see she was involved with people she shouldn’t have been,” said Blake.
Police have prowled the social media sites questioning older men who have contacted the teen.
“She doesn’t understand the people she may be out there with are way more dangerous, way worse than anything Daddy can throw at you at home as punishment,” Blake told his little girl through news cameras Thursday. “Just come on home. We’ll work that out.”
If someone does have his daughter, he hopes they hear him.
“She’s a baby girl. She’s my baby girl,” said Blake. “I know she looks 19 or 20. She’s 16 years old, and she needs to be at home with me.”
Police say Taylor has family and friends in Florida and South Carolina. If you’ve seen her, call Lincoln County Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
