Charlotte, NC — The Carolina Panthers organization still not commenting on Commissioner Roger Goodell’s first appearance in nine days.

Goodell’s 45 minute speech aimed to win back the trust of the sports world, sponsors and women.

Critics expected him to resign. Instead, he announced a new conduct committee to handle what he say she couldn’t.

“I got it wrong on a number of levels, from processes I led to decision I reached,” said Goodell. “I will get it right.”

While he does that, sponsors bail, fans lose faith.

“It’s too late,” said Melody Mitchell.
“Stepping in the right direction is a good way to put it, but I just think there’s no way to make up what they’ve done in the past,” said Ashley Henricks.

“Can the NFL regain, not just the fans’ trust, because by and large men will eventually end up going back because they’re sports fanatics, but 44 percent of the NFL fandom is female,” said Panthers Writer and sports analyst Brett Jensen. “And coming up in just a few days is breast cancer awareness month. Crest from Proctor and Gamble, their biggest sponsor, pulled out of that today. That’s a big deal. Now the NFL loses money.”

Some women say they can’t forget that the green got the NFL here in the first place.
“They’ve swept it under the rug and tried to keep it quiet so they can keep their players,” said Ashley Henricks.

“They get a slap on the wrist, and ‘Don’t do it again.’ ‘Get back on the field because we gotta make money.’,” said Melody Mitchell.

Many still insist, the conduct committee should have been in place.

Of the four players under fire, Greg Hardy, Jonathan Dwyer, Adrian Peterson are all getting paid to sit out. The league suspended Ray Rice indefinitely. He’s appealing.
