CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It is the pinkest party in town this Saturday when the 18th Annual Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure kicks off in Uptown Charlotte.Β When the runners hit the corner of Camden and Tryon Street in South EndΒ they will find their biggest welcome of the race.
Wilson was in South End where he talked with everyone from Panther Van Man (who was donning his pink wig) to volunteers and participants going pink.Β Shops and businesses in Boulevard at South End will have their doors and windows decorated in pink pride to welcome the runners and support the survivors of breast cancer.
All of the fun and festivites for the event begins this Saturday, October 4th at 6:30am at Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte with the race starting at 7:15am. Β Runners can still sign up for the race at the Susan G. Komen Charlotte website HERE at Founders Hall in Uptown and at the Komen House.Β And if you can’t make it to the race you sign up for the “sleep in for the cure” or even donate.
If you can’t make the walk, be sure to come out to Boulevard at South End to cheer on the runners and support the businesses in the area.
