Money, money, money, money!  Makin’ it rain at the ATM is costing you more than ever these days.  Of course, it’s a free service if you’re using your bank’s ATM, but when you start using somebody else’s money machine, that’s how they get ya on both ends.

And that charge is now at the highest rate it’s ever been.   According to Bankrates.com, the average service fee for a transaction at a money machine that doesn’t belong to your bank is $2.51.  But your bank tacks on about another $1.50 for an out-of-network transaction.  Which means you’re looking at an average of $4 every time you slip your card into a strange slot.

Of course, there’s ways around it: buy something at a store and get cash back.  But some stores have minimum purchases on cards.  Or maybe you just walk around the block looking for another ATM.  But that’s the point tonight.

We want to know: when it comes to ATMs, do you search around, or suck it up and pay the fee?
