Armed Robbery Suspect Apprehended

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a woman responsible for the armed robberies of two pharmacies in the Charlotte area. 

Authorities say that on Friday October 10th, Shakeyra Cousart entered the Bi-Lo on Camfield Street and the CVS Pharmacy on Providence road, with a firearm, and demanded prescription narcotics from each pharmacy. 

Ms. Cousart was arrested on Sunday October 12th, after she was identified by an employee in the Rite Aid on Providence Road.  The employee was able to give a description of Ms. Cousart and her vehicle, which allowed authorities to locate the vehicle and apprehend Ms. Cousart in an apartment on Sage Hills Drive.

Ms. Cousart has been charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
