GASTONIA, N.C. – Wilson was at the Gastonia Police Department today…and luckily no bail was needed. He was there to preview this week’s Gastonia Sniper Conference. The conference, which begins on Wednesday will highlight some of the area’s best competitive sharp-shooters.
But the conference is not only about the competition, but it is also about gun safety and education. Some of the members of the Gaston Young Guns Shooting Sports joined Wilson to talk about their organization and how it provides important lessons not only on gun safety, but also team work and responsibility. Some of the members of GYGSS have participated in the event for years.
The conference runs Wednesday, October 22nd through Saturday, October 25th. And the public is invited to come out to the conference on Friday and Saturday. Not only will visitors be able to see the best of the best, but have the opportunity to participate in some of the public events. They can also enjoy vendors, food and beverages while helping to raise funds for local community charities.
