
York County, S.C. — York County Sheriff’s Deputies busted two underage drinking parties over the weekend.
On Saturday, officers on foot patrol responded to reports of suspicious behavior and noise complaints at the Clarion Hotel in Fort Mill and discovered numerous underage individuals, empty liquor bottles, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. All suspects were cited and released.
On Sunday, officers responded to noise complaints and reports of possible underage drinking at a residence in the River Hills neighborhood. Upon entering the residence the officers found at least 30 individuals, many who were underage. Officers also found a bag with marijuana residue and drug paraphernalia present. Breathalyzer tests were administered to the underage individuals and those who tested positive were cited and released.
The homeowner, 72 year old John Richardson, was cited for Transfer of Beer and Liquor to a Minor. He stated that he “hosted several parties for the kids because the kids in attendance were good kids,” and because “they were safer there partying than they would be out drinking and driving.”
