PINEVILLE, N.C. –   Wilson was at Peppermint Forest Christmas Shop this morning.  Along with WCCB-TV, the Peppermint Forest is once again just one of the many area businesses a part of  this year’s Salvation Army Angel Tree  program.

While he was at Peppermint Forest , Wilson got a look at some of the great items to get your home holiday ready.  From pre-light trees to items to deck your halls, you can find something for every room.

He also enjoyed a visit with some of the performers of the Universoul Circus.  Anyone who brings an unwrapped toy to Tuesday’s opening night of Universoul Circus will get free popcorn for the show.  On Sunday, November 23rd proceeds from their 12:30pm show will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The Angel Tree program provides Christmas assistance to those in need in our community.  Families register children age 14 and under to receive new Christmas gifts for the holidays.  Once registered, each child’s information is placed on an angel to be adopted.  This year there are 12,000 children registered on the Angel Tree who are looking for a happy Christmas.

Individuals, families, groups and companies are given the opportunity to adopt angels and purchase Christmas gifts for these children.  All gifts are then returned, sorted and distributed to the families prior to Christmas day.  Through the involvement of the community, many lives are touched and much joy is spread through the Angel Tree program.

WCCB-TV is once again proud to be involved with the Angel Tree program.  By clicking on the Angel Tree icon on our homepage, you can choose a child in your community to help this Christmas.
