CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  What happens when you mix Wilson, tacky holiday sweaters and a group of kazoo playing Charlotteans?  A lot of fun in this year’s Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Wilson was behind the scenes today as he prepared to get his group of kazoo playing holiday revelers in line for this year’s parade.  Even some of the youngest Wilson fans came out to take part in the parade as well some of Derek’s old neighbors.  Seems that the Thanksgiving parade is a family, friends and neighbors event.

Besides enjoying the morning with his “team,”  Wilson was joined by members of the Garinger Marching Band  – and one member of the band even admitted to being proud  that she enjoys watching Wilson on Rising.  These kids were ready to march.

Before hitting the parade route, Wilson took a few minutes to talk with Charlotte Mayor Daniel Clodfelter who  will help kick off the parade.  Mayor Clodfelter and Wilson talked about Charlotte’s parade and it’s wonderful tradition.  But leave it to Wilson to give the mayor a hard time.

The parade kicked off at 9:30am today with Wilson and his gang of ugly sweater, kazoo playing misfits having a great time cool weather and all.
