
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a death in the University area after responding to a call for service in which a man had been shot.
The shooting occurred Monday on Katelyn Drive in Charlotte. Officers responded to the call and found a man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead on the scene by a medic. Police are waiting to release the name of the victim pending notification of the family.
According to reports, the victim was involved in an altercation with a known acquaintance at the time of the shooting. The suspect, who is cooperating with the investigation, remained on the scene and was transported to police headquarters for questioning. The gun that was used has been seized for evidence.
Investigators are currently looking for witnesses to the incident. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police will release further information as it becomes available.
