Albemarle Man Arrested For Child Abuse

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — An Albemarle man has been arrested and charged with child abuse after a police investigation determined that he was responsible for the injuries sustained by his three month old son.

The child’s caregivers reported the injuries to police on November 16th, 2014 and medical staff at the Stanly Regional Medical Center confirmed that the injuries were related to child abuse.

After several interviews, police concluded that Dustin Lane Almond, the child’s biological father, was responsible for the injuries.

Mr. Almond was charged with Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and released on a $15,000 secured bond.  His court date is set for January 5th, 2015.
